Achievements of 2016

This year for me has been an odd one. I am aware how vocal everyone else is about how fed up of 2016 they are and I kind of agree. It has been a year that I haven’t been too keen on and one that I haven’t really done much in. It is the reason why I am so determined to do more next year – to make up for what I feel is lost time. But, I don’t want to put a negative stamp on 2016 so I thought I would positively reflect and tell you 16 things I did in 2016:

I passed my driving test.

I actually passed my driving test 5 days before I turned 18 so a lot happened in a short space of time and I felt like I grew up SO quick. I was really surprised I passed my driving test as it took me 4 times with my theory but I some how came out with only 1 minor (get in!)

I went to London for the first time.

I adored London! I saw all the cute touristy things like Buckingham Palace and Big Ben and Trafalgar Square and I went on the tube and everything. While I was down there I also saw Les Miserables in the West End for a birthday treat as this was also in the mad weekend that I passed my driving test.

I became an adult.

I turned 18 this year and even though that isn’t something that is a great achievement, I really did feel different after my birthday. I was an actual adult. I was all of a sudden a responsible human that was expected to do things that required life experience like driving and stuff. It felt so weird.

I decided to take a gap year.

I decided quite early on in the year that university wasn’t really calling my name so I decided to take a gap year. It has allowed my anxiety to completely relax and I haven’t had a panic attack now since the summer.

I went to see BEYONCE.

I have wanted to see Beyonce since I watched Dreamgirls for the first time and I heard the song “Listen”. I adore that lady so much and I am so happy that I got a chance to see her in concert. I may have had a seat and the very top of the stadium but I don’t care. I was in the same room as Beyonce!

I visited Cardiff this year.

I had never been to the south of Wales so it was nice to start off with Cardiff. As I saw it when it was full of very vocal Beyonce fans and passionate Welsh football supporters, I didn’t find it as nice as I probably should have but when venturing out of the city center, it was lovely. Everyone was so friendly as well!

I did my A levels.

I managed to get AAB in my A levels which was a little bit of a surprise. I couldn’t get my head around maths so the fact I got a B was amazing.

I volunteered this year at the Colour Run in Manchester.

If you ran the 5k at Man City’s ground this year and was covered in yellow, I am sorry that was me.

I went on the big wheel in Liverpool.

Every single time I have gone to Liverpool, I have said that I would love to go one the big wheel next to the Echo Arena and honestly, it was SO scary. To be fair though, my Dad was rocking it for a joke but it was not funny in the moment. It was so much higher than I though it would go and when you go round on your first cycle, you pause at the top to let other people on and that’s the scary bit – especially if it’s windy like it was.

I went to The Cotswolds.

I have always wanted to go to The Cotswolds, don’t ask me why but I always have. It was honestly, the cutest and most clean place I have ever been to. One of the public toilets was posher than the one I have at home. It was stunning. The nicest place we visited was Bourton-On-The-Water that had a river running through the town

I started this blog.

I had been meaning to start this blog for ages but I finally did it on the 5th of September this year. I am so glad it has been like a little diary that I can share with other people. I enjoy writing every blog post and love the feedback I get.

I finally started a Twitter and Instagram.

I did always feel late to the party not having a Twitter or Instagram account but it has been so fun starting them. If you would like to follow me on either then the links are at the bottom right on the page 🙂

I visited Edinburgh.

Again, I had never been to Scotland and felt that I definitely should as it is just a few hours up the road. It was so beautiful and photogenic and I loved it!

Finally, myself and my Mum brought out our own product range: helpmeorganics!

I can’t believe we did it! We actually managed to create and launch our own products. If you would like to read more about our products then please click here

I hope you have all had a wonderful 2016 and I will see you next year!
