Good afternoon everyone. Here is my 4th post of the summer: my top 10 favourite songs! A while ago, my boss approached me and asked me if I could send her a list of my top 10 favourite songs (I had a cool boss and she used to put a different Spotify playlist together every week from each tutor.) I sat down for a good half an hour writing down all of my favourite songs and narrowing them down to 10 was SO much harder than you may think. But, I did and I am so proud of it (lol, not proud of my A Level results or the fact that I started a business with my Mum, no. A Spotify playlist.) Anyway, here we are, my top 10 ALL TIME favourite songs:
In no particular order by the way, that would have added an extra half an hour:
“Listen” by the queen herself, Beyonce.
This has been my favourite song since I first heard it in 2006 when I saw Dreamgirls. I played it over and over again for hours and never got bored of it. Since then, I can play it whenever and my inner sass will burst out and I will lip sing with power. In my opinion, the best song ever.
“Let It All Go” by RHODES and Birdy.
One word – incredibly. The emotion in this song is on another level. I have loved Birdy for ages but this is by far her best song. I listened to this on repeat when I was in my last year of college so I always get reminded of then whenever I listen to it. I just adore the whole song beginning to end and the mood it wraps me up in.
“Stop and Stare” by OneRepublic.
How can anyone not adore the contrast between the verses and the chorus. The power that Ryan Tedder puts into these lyrics is so amazing! He is probably one of my favourite singers as well. I adore singing along to this in the car as loud as I can. Obviously in the winter when my windows are closed, I don’t put it on in the summer for my dignity’s sake.
“Sugar” by Maroon 5
What a summer song. I am always happy when this comes on in the radio. My dancing is embarrassing but i don’t really care when this is on.
“Bring It All Back” by S Club 7.
This is the tune of my childhood. My Mum was the biggest S Club 7 fan so how could I not be. I always think about 6 year old me dancing around the living room to the whole album this is from. “Don’t Stop Movin'” used to be favourite when I was little but now, you can’t get better than this song. Amazing. Had to feature in my top 10.
“Into You” by Ariana Grande.
This is one of them songs for me, that if I had this on while I was in the shower, my hair wouldn’t be washed or anything. Just pure singing and dancing happens when this is on. I am listening to each song while I write this and I am just bopping in my chair and I can’t help it. The chorus sends energy though me.
“First Heartbreak” by Tori Kelly.
My favourite singer of all time. This girl has the voice of an angel. I have had the pleasure of seeing Tori live and she sounds exactly the same as her CD. The talent shinig out of this girl is unbelieveable. From her album, this is joint 1st with “Funny” but this just pipped it to the post and made it into my top 10. Ah-maz-ing
“I Wanna Dance With Somebody” by Whitney Houston.
I mean, I think this song speaks for itself. My Mum brought me up listen to Smooth FM on the radio so obviously I will have loved a few of the songs and this is my ultimate favourite from before I was born. Firstly, who doesn’t love a little bit of Whitney? Secondly, who don’t love a bit of dancing? Class.
“Heart Like Yours” by Willamette Stone.
The movie “If I Stay” so not only one of my favourite moves but has also got one of the best soundtracks I have ever heard from a movie. The emotion that is injected into every song makes your heart melt. If you have seen the movie then you will know how amazing every single song it. This is one of my favs but “Heal” by Tom Odell from the movie is brilliant too. This just slightly tops it.
“Let It Go” by James Bay.
Finally, we have this genius with such a relaxing yet emotional song. Can you tell I like a good heap of emotion chucked into a song? I didn’t realise until now haha. I used to listen to this all the time while I was going through a little bit of a hard time at the beginning of 2015 so I always get a little sad listening to it but I think that has just added to the meaning already in the song. It’s a wonderful piece of music and I adore it.
And that’s my top 10. All amazing and brilliant and every synonym to them two words. The spotify playlist that was created with these songs is linked HERE and you can listen to them over and over again just like I am doing now while I am writing this. I am very proud of this list as I feel like it will be the same for quite a while.
I will see you guys tomorrow with day #5
These are my opinions. I have a bit of a specific music taste so please don’t be offended that I love a song you hate or haven’t shown much diversity. Just my opinion 🙂
